But good days approach with the cooler weather, Texas fall garden planting season is here, and the big cycle of life keeps rolling. So do our plans for a community supported grocery store. |

We have a few changes to the meeting schedule listed in the August newsletter earlier this week. The Board meeting on the 16th will begin at 4:30PM, not 4:00PM. There will be a Business Planning meeting on the 23rd, not the 22nd. |

August is finally here, meaning cooler weather is just around the bend. It also means we'll be ramping up events for the South Austin Food Co-op. Come on out and meet fellow co-op members. If you haven't joined yet, these will be good opportunities to find out more about the project, join up, and get involved. If you have joined, come over and bring a friend- the more the merrier. Remember folks, co-ops are true grassroots organizations. We can only get a community owned store by investing in it as a community. That means more members and more volunteers. Happy Hour August 19th, 5:30-7PM Opal Divines at Penn Field |

South Austin Food Co-op Newsletter So, while we’re spending as much time as possible in cooled environments, the harvests are also feeling the heat and gardens are yielding less at this time of year. This is a great time to think about how you are supporting food production that is truly sustainable--and there are so many ways to do that. Members and Board members alike are currently working on a plan for a food co-op in South Austin that takes into account local and global community needs. Envisioning a Food Co-op for South Austin… |

Our major project underway is development of a Business Plan. This plan is what will drive determining not only where we will start our store (which is the question on just about everybody's mind) but also how we will thoughtfully, methodically, and cooperatively approach all facets of building a business, including: |
